My mission is to help other women feel hope again and show you that you CAN overcome this battle. Before becoming a Beachbody coach I was working part time and struggling with my weight.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from SUNY Plattsburgh and a Master’s Degree in Gerontology from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Allied Health. I enjoy studying nutrition and the effects different foods have on our bodies. When I’m not running my online accountability groups and bootcamps or meeting with clients, I can be found scrapbooking, enjoying time at the beach in the Outer Banks and hanging out with my family and two dogs. I also love to travel and explore new places.
My issues with weight started for me in college. So, before my wedding I joined weight watchers because I wanted to walk down the aisle feeling great. I reached my goal and became a lifetime member. Then after my first child was born I struggled to lose the 40 pounds I had gained during my pregnancy. I went back to weight watchers and lost the pregnancy weight but I went through many years of losing weight and gaining it back.
When I got into my 40’s I started to gain weight again. In 2015 I went back to weight watchers but this time, it didn’t work. I was following the plan but wasn’t seeing results. I went to my doctor and explained my frustration and he told me I shouldn’t worry about my weight gain.
Well, that certainly wasn’t the support or the answer I was looking for and I left more upset and frustrated than before that appointment. I also had friends telling me that because I was in my late 40’s it was part of aging but I knew better. None of these answers were acceptable to me. I knew that I wasn’t at a healthy weight and it was affecting many areas of my life.
Shortly after these discussions I saw a friend from high school post her before and after picture on Facebook and I couldn’t believe her transformation. I reached out to her and she told me about the 21 Day Fix and Shakeology. I had never heard of it but I knew it was time for me to try something different. As Autumn Calabrese says, “if you want something you’ve never had, you’ve got to do something you’ve never done.” So, I took the plunge and purchased the 21 Day Fix challenge pack.
I also noticed that I didn’t experience the afternoon slump like I used to. I loved the 21 Day Fix meal plan because I didn’t have to count calories or points or give up any food groups. I was even able to eat chocolate and drink wine! I started to see the scale going down and I felt hope again.
I didn’t accept that my destiny was to be overweight and unhealthy just because of my age and you don’t need to accept it either. This is possible for you too.
Let’s do it together.
Work with me and I’ll help you reach goals you didn’t think were possible!
